Creator tools are great. Creator prices add up.
Kit (formerly ConvertKit) charges $139/month at 10,000 subscribers on its Creator plan. Sendra runs the same list for about $22 — software plus Amazon SES sending.
How Kit charges
Kit prices per subscriber across three plans: Newsletter (free), Creator, and Creator Pro. Every plan has unlimited sends, but inactive subscribers still count toward billing. The free plan is unusually generous — up to 10,000 subscribers — but caps you at one visual automation and one email sequence. Full automation requires Creator, which runs from $39/month at 1,000 subscribers to about $679/month at 100,000 (prices rose roughly 35% in September 2025).
How Sendra charges
Sendra is flat software pricing: free for your first 1,000 contacts, then $20/month for unlimited contacts. Delivery runs through your own Amazon SES account, billed directly by Amazon at roughly $1 per 10,000 emails. Your list can grow 100× without your software bill moving.

When Kit is the better choice
Kit is built for creators who monetize their audience directly, and that focus shows:
- You sell paid newsletter subscriptions, digital products, or use tip jars — Kit's commerce tools are built in.
- You want the Creator Network: Kit's recommendation engine genuinely grows lists through cross-promotion.
- You have under 10,000 subscribers and only need one simple automation — Kit's free plan covers that at $0.
- You write plain-text-style newsletters and prefer Kit's writing-first editor.
